Timi Frank Alleges Tinubu’s Lagos-Centric Agenda and Secret Plan to Relocate Capital

Timi Frank Alleges Tinubu’s Lagos-Centric Agenda and Secret Plan to Relocate Capital

Former APC Deputy Publicity Secretary Timi Frank has accused President Tinubu of favouring Lagos in major appointments, investments and development deals. He claims there is a covert strategy to move the federal capital and sideline other regions. Frank warns that MOUs and foreign loans, including a recent UK port agreement, are structured to benefit British firms while deepening Nigeria’s debt and leaving most states without tangible projects. He highlights the neglect of agricultural, industrial and oil & gas initiatives outside Lagos. He also criticises the diversion of the Coastal Highway project from its original plan under late President Yar’Adua, suggesting political motives rather than national interest. Frank argues that this bias undermines unity and widens regional divides ahead of the 2027 elections. He urges Nigerians and relevant institutions to demand transparency, equitable resource distribution and protection of national sovereignty against exploitative financial arrangements.

Do you think Tinubu really plans to relocate the capital, or is this more rumor than political posturing?

I agree it feels more like political posturing than a concrete plan to shift the capital city.

What official declaration or policy draft implies Tinubu seriously intends moving the capital instead of mere political spin?

The appointments and investments mentioned do appear heavily tilted towards Lagos, which might leave other states feeling overlooked.

Frank's claims need stronger proof; moving a capital involves massive costs and planning, not just political theater.

Regional leaders should demand transparent MOUs and clear timelines for any capital relocation to protect local interests and ensure nationwide balance.
