Gbenga Daniel: Tinubu’s Best Leadership Moments Are Yet to Come

Gbenga Daniel: Tinubu’s Best Leadership Moments Are Yet to Come

Senator Gbenga Daniel praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a book launch in Abuja. Speaking at the Yar’Adua Centre, Daniel said Nigeria has not yet seen the peak of Tinubu’s leadership abilities. He highlighted how Tinubu’s pragmatic approach influenced policies in Ogun State when Daniel was governor. The event marked Daniel’s 70th birthday and featured former Presidents Obasanjo and Jonathan. Representing the president, Finance Minister Wale Edun lauded Daniel’s achievements in engineering, business and politics. Tinubu also commended Daniel’s entrepreneurial vision, recalling his work founding Kresta Laurel and driving infrastructure projects in Ogun State. Daniel used the occasion to call for ethical leadership rooted in Omoluabi values. He urged reforms to curb corruption, improve information access and explore state policing with proper checks to safeguard citizens’ rights.

When Daniel spoke about those future highlights, which sector crossed your mind—economy, health or something else?

I suspect it's more campaign spin than genuine promise. Hard to see actual policy outline in that statement.

Praising future leadership peaks feels premature when current challenges like inflation and insecurity demand urgent focus right now.

Instead of broad praise, maybe we should track Tinubu's next policy rollouts and measure tangible results against Daniel's high expectations.
