Lens Refuse PSG’s Postponement Request Ahead of Key Fixture

Lens Refuse PSG’s Postponement Request Ahead of Key Fixture

Racing Club de Lens has declined Paris Saint-Germain’s appeal to move their April 11 league meeting. PSG sought the change after advancing to a Champions League quarterfinal against Liverpool on April 8 and 14. The French league had already granted PSG one postponement earlier this season. Lens issued a statement stressing fairness and adherence to clear rules. The club reacted after PSG’s management publicly announced their request, as reported by AFP via Super Sports. Coach Pierre Sage noted that Lens managed a cup game on Thursday and league fixture on Sunday without asking for special treatment. He added that PSG, given its busy schedule, should understand the demands of competing on multiple fronts.
