On 18 May 2026, Chief Obinna Nwaka, Director General of CYMS, joined the University of Abuja as a special guest at the 2026 Students’ Union Government Week. He received an Award of Excellence from SUG President Yusuf Tobi Jamiu. The Deputy Dean of Student Affairs presented the honour on behalf of Vice-Chancellor Prof Hakeem Babatunde. Chief Nwaka was accompanied by Hon Kelechi Ugwumba, CYMS Director of Contacts and Mobilization. He dedicated the award to youth leaders for their consistency, with special tribute to the Minister of Youth Development, Engr Ayodele Olawande.
