Kashimbila’s TY Danjuma Airport Cleared for Commercial Flights

Kashimbila’s TY Danjuma Airport Cleared for Commercial Flights

The Taraba State Government has received NCAA approval for commercial operations at TY Danjuma Airport, Kashimbila. This achievement advances Governor Agbu Kefas’s vision of using aviation to drive economic growth and regional integration. Southern and Central Taraba will soon enjoy direct connections to major cities nationwide and beyond. New flight routes will help local businesses thrive, attract investors, and give farmers faster access to larger markets. Taraba now stands out as the only Nigerian state with two fully operational airports. We extend our gratitude to General Yakubu Danjuma for his investment and to the NCAA for their prompt support. This partnership reinforces our commitment to critical infrastructure and the state’s economic potential.

This new airport clearance is exciting. Which commercial routes do you think will launch first from Kashimbila's TY Danjuma Airport?

Absolutely, the clearance is great news. I reckon domestic routes to Abuja or Lagos could go first.

Approval is one thing, but I wonder if the existing facilities and staff can handle regular commercial flights smoothly.

Governors always tout aviation projects, yet local road and rail networks still suffer neglect. Shouldn't those get attention first?
