Step Two to Freedom: Willingness to Be Helped
Admitting our need for God’s intervention is just the beginning. The true journey to freedom from spiritual bondage requires a heart that is willing to accept help. In John 5:2-9, Jesus asks a man crippled for 38 years, “Do you want to be made whole?” This question reveals that some cling to their chains. Exodus 21:1-6 warns that those who love their slavery remain captive for life. Choosing freedom means cutting off anything that holds us back. Living a holy life, praying without ceasing, studying Scripture regularly, and fellowshipping with sincere believers all demonstrate our willingness to be set free.
