Agege Gas Pipeline Blaze Doused Early Hours; Residents Safe

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) says a gas pipeline fire along Agege Motor Road, Ile Zik inward Agege, has been extinguished with no casualties. LASEMA’s Head of Public Affairs confirmed that responders from the Eagle Response Team, LASEMA Response Unit and Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service arrived at around 3:13 a.m. and contained the fire. The pipeline, owned by NNPC Ltd., was safely isolated and the valve shut while investigations into the cause continue. Residents were evacuated quickly and safety perimeters established, ensuring no injuries. The operation concluded successfully, and all emergency teams have returned to base. The Lagos State Government and NNPC Ltd. will carry out integrity checks before reactivating the pipeline.
