Theme: Love Should Not Hinder God’s Will Memory Verse: “But he turned and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan… for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.” (Matthew 16:23) Read: 1 Samuel 17:26-31 I once attended a church outreach where bad roads left me bedridden on Christmas Day. A helicopter was arranged for my return, but an overexcited crowd clung to it. A window shattered before it could lift off. I survived, yet their loving intentions almost caused me harm. Like Eliab, who challenged David out of brotherly concern, well-meaning loved ones can sometimes block God’s purpose for our lives. Even Peter tried to prevent Jesus from facing the cross. Pray for wisdom to discern when affection is actually a stumbling block. Prayer Point: Father, help me recognize when my loved ones’ actions conflict with Your plan and give me courage to follow Your will.
