How Western Christianity Distorts Biblical Truth for Africans

How Western Christianity Distorts Biblical Truth for Africans

Many Africans were taught that Christianity is purely biblical. In reality, colonial powers imposed a Western interpretation of Scripture. This distortion includes four key issues: 1. Messiah’s identity: The Bible describes Him as brown-skinned and named Yeshua, not a white European. 2. Israel’s identity: The original Israelites were a Black nation, as text and archaeology confirm. 3. Covenant Laws: These laws were labeled “canceled,” yet disobedience leads to oppression. 4. Messiah’s mission: Yeshua came to free the oppressed from human powers, not just spiritual bondage. These misrepresentations supported colonial control. To reverse them, we must revisit Scripture, obey Yahuwah’s commands, and pursue Africa’s decolonization in line with Luke 4:18 and Proverbs 3:31. Now is the time to seek true understanding. As Yeshua opens blinded eyes, we must choose interpretations that bring liberation, not further bondage.

I doubt every Western tradition is purely political; some practices may have biblical roots that just got adapted over time.
