Esther Okoronkwo Star of the Show as AFC Toronto Rally Past Vancouver Rise 3-2

Esther Okoronkwo was named Player of the Match after her goal and assist powered AFC Toronto to a 3-2 comeback win over Vancouver Rise in their season opener. Okoronkwo set up Sarah Stratigakis for the equaliser early in the second half. She then struck the decisive goal 18 minutes from time at Swangard Stadium. The versatile Nigeria international featured last season with 11 goals and eight assists in 29 appearances. She was substituted in the 84th minute for Kaila Novak.
