Anthony Nwakaeme says winning the Turkish Cup was the perfect way to end his time at Trabzonspor. The Nigerian side beat Konyaspor 2-1 in Friday’s final, with Paul Onuachu grabbing both goals. Nwakaeme praised the squad’s determination to reward fans for their support all season. He told the club’s official channels that lifting the cup gave everyone a moment to celebrate together. First signed in 2018, Nwakaeme helped the team win the Super Lig, Turkish Cup and Super Cup before a two-year spell in Saudi Arabia. He returned in January, made 21 appearances with a goal and three assists, and was honoured alongside Edin Višća with a special plaque ahead of the final.
