Build Deep Skills and Use AI as Your Advantage

If I were advising a younger person today, I would say this: study a field that gives you deep domain knowledge, then combine it with AI and real-world execution. AI will not make demanding fields such as materials science useless. In fact, people who understand complex subjects and know how to use AI effectively may have a major advantage. Do not compete with AI at tasks it already handles well. Learn deeply, then use AI as leverage. You do not have to wait for school to teach you. Explore AI tools in your spare time, build projects, write code, test ideas and learn how to turn concepts into working products. Your degree can give you domain knowledge. AI can give you leverage. Your ability to execute is what makes the combination valuable.
