Why DR Congo’s World Cup Qualifier Display Was So Disappointing

Why DR Congo’s World Cup Qualifier Display Was So Disappointing

I watched the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifier between DR Congo and Jamaica live in Mexico. I was left shaking my head. DR Congo showed no defensive structure. Their players were disorganized and lacked strength. They struggled to challenge Jamaica throughout the match. I feel embarrassed thinking that Nigeria lost to this side. If Nigeria had faced a team as weak as DR Congo, we might have secured qualification. In the end, DR Congo scored late to win 1-0. It’s hard to believe they still managed to advance.

What tactical changes do you think DR Congo should make to avoid such defensive chaos next time?

I agree, DR Congo fit try a more compact back line and sharper midfield support to calm the storm.

True talk, a tighter backline and clearer communication could fix that defensive mess next time.

They barely maintained any structure at the back, and it looked like players weren't sure of their roles.

It's harsh to blame the whole team when Jamaica's midfield also struggled to create clear chances.

DR Congo should focus on drilling defensive patterns in training and reinforce physical conditioning ahead of their next qualifiers.
