Kaduna Police Arrest Six Suspects in CSP Silas Kundi Abduction, Recover N24m Ransom

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested six suspects believed to have abducted CSP Silas Kundi and his son, Enoch Silas, in Kaduna State. The kidnappers reportedly collected a ransom of N24 million before police intervention. During a press briefing in Abuja, the Force PRO said operatives of the Special Tactical Squad of the Force Intelligence Department acted on digital intelligence to make the arrests on April 3, 2026. The victims were seized in Kujama Town in October 2025. Enoch Silas was rescued unharmed, while efforts continue to free CSP Silas Kundi. Investigators identified Yusuf Shuaibu as the alleged kingpin working under a gang leader known as Kachalla Gwanna, with camps in Rijana Forest. The suspects are also linked to another kidnapping that yielded N18 million. Authorities say they are pursuing other fleeing syndicate members and recovering weapons used in the operations.

We shouldn't assume the police can always replicate this success, given recurring reports of procedural lapses in recent cases.
