Ogun Police Strengthen Security with 2,500 Officers Ahead of Ojude Oba Festival
The Ogun State Police Command has mobilised over 2,500 officers and tactical units for the 2026 Ojude Oba Festival. Armoured vehicles, patrol cars, motorcycles, surveillance teams and rapid response squads will cover key venues in Ijebu Ode and neighbouring communities. Under Commissioner CP Bode Ojajuni’s leadership, units from the Mobile Force, SWAT, Violent Crime Response, Anti-Kidnapping, Force Intelligence, Explosive Ordnance Disposal and other divisions will focus on crowd control, traffic management and swift response before, during and after the celebrations. Major routes like the Sagamu Interchange, Ijebu Ode–Benin Expressway and Molipa axis have been identified for special attention. Area commanders and tactical leaders will maintain round-the-clock patrols, stop-and-search operations and close supervision of all personnel. Officers will work with traditional rulers, community leaders, transport unions and event organisers to coordinate security measures and uphold the rights of citizens. Residents and visitors are urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest station or via emergency lines. The Command has warned criminal elements to stay away during the festival to ensure a peaceful celebration.
