Clarification Needed: NYSC Eligibility for UI Distance Learning Graduates
I run a tutorial centre and helped indigent students secure admission into the University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre so they could work and study simultaneously. My first cohort is graduating this year. My advice was based on a UI advert stating that UIDLC graduates qualify for NYSC. However, students now claim the NYSC component is a scam. One has attempted JAMB regularisation three times without success. Others say they’ve heard the same complaints from past graduates. I also interviewed a 2024/2025 UIDLC graduate whose papers I reviewed. Despite holding a DLC certificate, she wasn’t eligible for NYSC. I need answers from anyone with direct experience: Can UIDLC graduates truly participate in NYSC? Why does this discrepancy affect their results and certificates?
