Nigeria Must Harness Its Resource Wealth Sustainably, Professor Urges
A leading economist at Crescent University, Abeokuta, has called for prudent use of Nigeria’s abundant natural and human resources to fuel lasting economic growth. Speaking at the university’s inaugural lecture titled “Resource Efficiency Versus Economic Development: Whither Nigeria?”, he noted that despite vast arable land, freshwater reserves, minerals and energy assets, Nigeria still lags behind peer nations. He stressed that these resources belong to all citizens and urged greater accountability and efficiency in their management. University leaders praised his contributions to academic and moral excellence during the event.
