The disruption began at 6:30 AM when the airline cited a bird strike and promised a hotel, but travellers remained stuck without clear updates or access to their luggage. Akindele highlighted the plight of elderly passengers and families forced to wait hungry and exhausted at baggage claim. In posts on her X handle, she urged the airline to release luggage immediately and honour its promise of accommodation. Air Peace later responded on X, expressing regret over the inconvenience and emphasising that safety considerations can sometimes affect operations. The airline assured that its team was working to provide adequate assistance to all affected travellers.
