Open Letter to President Tinubu: End Career Stagnation of Radio Nigeria Staff

We write to express our concern over the long-standing career freeze affecting Radio Nigeria’s dedicated employees. For eight to ten years, qualified officers have remained on the same grade level under the recurring excuse of “no vacancy.” This stagnation crushes morale, reduces income and pension prospects, and undermines the dignity of public servants. Many due for promotion from Grade Level 15 to 16 were even excluded from the ongoing 2026 promotion examination. We urge President Tinubu to mandate an independent review of the “no vacancy” claim, reinstate all eligible officers in the current exercise, and restore the career progression these staff have rightfully earned.
