The NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa, has declared 2026 a year of consolidation and intense mop-up against drug cartels. He is calling for wider collaboration beyond government to include NGOs and community groups. Led by Dr. Fatimah Mohammed Goni, GMBNI reiterated its commitment to disrupting cartel networks and bolstering community outreach. Both agencies agreed that through joint operations and expanded grassroots awareness campaigns, they can weaken cartel activities and stem the tide of drug trafficking in Nigeria.
