Hostel Scam Alert: Beware Guest Gideon Nzubechukwu Aleke

Hostel Scam Alert: Beware Guest Gideon Nzubechukwu Aleke

I am warning others about Gideon Nzubechukwu Aleke. He booked a four-night stay at my hostel and promised to pay in cash but never did. On checkout day, he claimed to have lost his luggage and ID at the airport. He later transferred payment for one night via Revolut but ignored the remainder. He stayed six nights in total without completing payment. He made repeated excuses about awaiting funds. When I threatened to expose his actions online, he showed no concern. He eventually packed up and left without paying. My policy requires all guests to pay through Booking.com. I waived this rule out of goodwill and it was exploited. Exercise caution if you deal with Gideon Nzubechukwu Aleke.

Has anyone else experienced guests promising to pay in cash and then backing out last minute? How did you handle the situation?

True talk. I now collect small deposit before arrival, so dem no fit cancel last minute without consequences.

I've been through that too, it's so frustrating when they pull out last minute and leave you hanging.

It seems odd that Gideon transferred payment for only one night and then vanished. Something about that partial payment doesn't add up.

I'm not convinced Gideon deserves all the blame here. The hostel owner could have insisted on a deposit or official ID before check-in.

Always request a refundable deposit and verify IDs before allowing guests in. That can help avoid last-minute payment issues.
