Timi Frank Warns Judiciary Against Politically Motivated Rulings Amid International Watch

Timi Frank Warns Judiciary Against Politically Motivated Rulings Amid International Watch

Comrade Timi Frank has cautioned judges at all levels to resist political pressure and uphold Nigeria’s democratic process. He warned that the international community is closely monitoring court decisions, especially in cases involving the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former deputy chairman Nafiu Bala Gombe. Frank urged the Chief Justice, the National Judicial Council, and judges of the Federal High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court to apply the law impartially. He alleged attempts by the presidency to manipulate judicial outcomes and threatened that foreign governments could impose sanctions on officers who deliver partisan judgments. He stressed that any ruling perceived as undermining free participation of political parties could erode public confidence in the judiciary. Frank called on well-meaning Nigerians to defend democratic institutions and warned that consequences from the global community could extend to judges and their families if impartiality is compromised.
