FGC Kano Alumni Sue FG Over Plan to Convert School Land into Private Estate
The FGC Kano Old Students Association has filed a suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja challenging the conversion of about 30 hectares of school land into a private residential estate under a PPP arrangement. Defendants include the ministers of Education and Housing, Pluck Global Company, the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission and the Attorney-General of the Federation. FGCKOSA argues the transaction lacked transparency, proper approvals and public consultation. It is seeking declarations to nullify any concession or land transfer, an injunction against further development and full disclosure of all concession documents and approvals. The association warns the case has wider implications for federal school lands across Nigeria. It is urging all parties to suspend work on the disputed site pending court determination.
