APC Aspirant Alleges Sidelining and House Arrest During Katsina Primary

Ahmed Saleh Junior says he was endorsed by all stakeholders in his constituency under a consensus arrangement before the party published his name in its official gazette. He claims complaints from aggrieved aspirants led officials to cancel the first consensus, hold a fresh vote, and announce him winner by 25–2, only to hand the ticket to another candidate. Saleh also alleges that security agents placed him under house arrest on primary day, preventing his participation and forcing officials to conduct the vote in his absence. He urges the elders’ committee set up by the party to deliver justice, while the state government says it is unaware of any detention.
