Tom Dele-Bashiru Nears Permanent Move to Aris FC

Nigerian midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru is on the verge of a permanent transfer to Greek Super League side Aris FC. The Yellow-Blacks have agreed a €1.5 million fee with Watford, potentially rising to €2 million in performance bonuses. He is due in Thessaloniki on Thursday to sign a three-year contract. The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at Gençlerbirliği in Turkey, making 30 appearances and registering one assist. He joined Watford from Manchester City in 2019, featuring 81 times, scoring eight goals and providing four assists. The former Flying Eagles star now looks to begin a new chapter as Aris strengthens its squad ahead of the upcoming season.

I agree. With his work rate and versatility, he should find his feet in the Greek league soon.

That fee sounds reasonable, but Aris FC's track record with loan signings hasn't been consistently strong in recent seasons.

I'm not convinced a permanent transfer this early is the best move for his development at this stage.

Aris supporters should wait to see his minutes and role on arrival before judging if the additional bonuses are worth it.
