EFCC Arraigns ‘Blessing CEO’ Over ₦13M Fake Cancer Fund Scam

EFCC Arraigns ‘Blessing CEO’ Over ₦13M Fake Cancer Fund Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Lagos zonal directorate 2 arraigned self-styled relationship therapist Blessing CEO Okoro before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi on June 10. She faces a six-count charge of obtaining ₦13 million by false pretence and retaining the proceeds of an alleged unlawful act. The EFCC alleges Okoro claimed to be battling stage 4 breast cancer to solicit donations from well-meaning Nigerians. Investigations revealed the medical document she presented was allegedly falsified and the funds were misappropriated. This is the third criminal charge pending against her in Lagos courts. On June 9, she was arraigned separately for an alleged ₦69.15 million fraud before the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja.

Anyone affected should gather any proof of transactions and report directly to EFCC for a stronger case.
