Assessing Tinubu’s Presidency: Notable Progress Amid Ongoing Concerns

I admit I began this term as a non-supporter, but I’ve been impressed by some of Tinubu’s early moves. The naira is strengthening, major projects are underway, and more funds are flowing to states. He’s also challenging power structures in the North. I still believe Obi would govern with fewer issues of corruption, nepotism or anti-democratic behavior. But I can’t deny that Tinubu has made tangible progress, especially on the Lagos–Calabar highway. Too often Nigerians dismiss whoever holds office as the worst ever. I defended Jonathan once and saw how spite propelled Buhari to power. If Tinubu wins a second term, I’d accept it. If Obi wins, that’s fine too. This kind of balance is healthy for our democracy.

I'm cautious about praising the naira's uptick just yet, some policies still lack clarity on long term impact.

The president's challenges to northern power structures are bold, but I wonder if shifting funds to states will truly address deeper economic issues.

It's easy to praise project launches, but shouldn't we question whether these initiatives will finish on time and avoid the usual political delays?
