1 / 4

On 21 April 2026, Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni visited the 35 Artillery Brigade, DSS, Nigeria Immigration Service and NSCDC commands in Ogun State. He aimed to deepen cooperation and strengthen coordinated responses to evolving security challenges. At Alamala Barracks, CP Ojajuni met Brigadier General Godwin U. Nwamba. They reviewed joint operational frameworks and identified ways to improve rapid response, intelligence sharing and synchronized patrols across key flashpoints. At the DSS command, the CP and Director R.A. Adelakun agreed on regular joint assessments and a unified planning posture to address communal tensions and violent crime. Visits to the Immigration Service and Civil Defence Corps commands reinforced a shared commitment to sustained communication and operational synergy. All agencies pledged to maintain a united front against security threats in Ogun State.

Looks like high-ranking visits happen often, but actual on-ground coordination between police and other agencies still seems slow to translate into results.

I'm not convinced say a few visits go fix deep-rooted security challenges without proper follow-through and accountability.
