FG Boosts FarmerMoni to Empower Smallholder Farmers Nationwide

FG Boosts FarmerMoni to Empower Smallholder Farmers Nationwide

The Federal Government has renewed its support for smallholder farmers under the GEEP 3.0 initiative. At a recent media briefing in Jigawa State, NSIPA leaders highlighted steps to strengthen the FarmerMoni loan scheme and improve food security. The sensitisation programme outlined loan terms, moratorium periods aligned with planting cycles, and accountability requirements. Farmers were advised to invest loans in viable ventures like crop cultivation and livestock rearing and repay on time to sustain the revolving fund. NSIPA also unveiled a monitoring framework using the GEEP dashboard to track fund utilisation and performance. Lessons from a successful goat empowerment project in Jigawa will inform future integrations of inputs, assets and cooperative support to boost productivity.
