Bob Manuel Udokwu Says Peter Obi Paid His Airfare to Haiti and Brought Him Into Government

Veteran Nollywood actor Bob Manuel Udokwu has recounted how Peter Obi paid for his airfare to Haiti during the 2010 earthquake relief mission. He said the trip began after a Red Cross meeting at Aso Rock, where arrangements were made for a team to support recovery efforts in Haiti. Udokwu also said he later travelled to Haiti again with Obi on a charity trip. According to him, that connection helped open the door to his role in government and led to his retention under successive Anambra State administrations.

This kind of personal account makes politics feel more human; how much should stories like this shape how people judge a politician?

Should people weigh such personal stories alongside a politician's public record when forming their opinion?

Interesting that a relief mission and a government connection are tied together here; it shows how public service stories can travel beyond one event.

The story is nice, but one person's testimony still doesn't tell the full picture. People should separate appreciation from conclusion.

If anything, this reminds me that public trust grows when leaders make support visible and consistent, not only when people share later memories.
