Galatasaray to Pair Osimhen with Record-Breaking Teen Ilenikhena
Galatasaray plan to sign Nigerian-eligible striker George Ilenikhena on loan with an option to buy. The Süper Lig champions want to bolster their attack rather than simply replace Victor Osimhen. Ilenikhena moved to Al Ittihad for a €33 million fee earlier this year, shattering John Obi Mikel’s record as the most expensive Nigerian teenage signing. He also became the youngest African to reach 15 Champions League appearances. Despite his pedigree, the 19-year-old managed only two league appearances in Saudi Arabia. Galatasaray see that as the perfect moment to offer him a fresh start and could field an all-Nigerian front two if the deal goes through.
