Drivers Alert: Outbound Eko Bridge Closing Indefinitely; Use Third Mainland Bridge
The Lagos State Government will close the outbound carriageway of the Eko Bridge from Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The shutdown is indefinite to allow for safety investigations and repairs. The inbound lane towards Lagos Island will remain open to traffic. Motorists departing Apongbon and Ijora Olopa are advised to divert to the Third Mainland Bridge. Traffic and security personnel will be deployed along alternative routes to guide drivers and ensure smooth flow.
