Man Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Cables From New Abia Bus Terminal
Security operatives in Abia State have arrested a man accused of stealing copper cables from the newly built Nnenna Otti Bus Terminal in Umuahia. The suspect, identified as Samuel Taiwo, was reportedly tracked through intelligence and the terminal’s CCTV system. Authorities said he had previously worked as a tiler during the facility’s construction, which may have given him knowledge of its electrical installations. Officials warned that vandalising public infrastructure causes costly damage, disrupts services and places repair costs on taxpayers. Residents have been urged to report suspicious activity around public facilities.
