Oyo CAN Urges Churches to Tighten Security as Abductions Rise
The Christian Association of Nigeria in Oyo State has called on all churches to strengthen their security arrangements amid rising kidnapping and abduction threats. In a communique issued in Ibadan and signed by the state chairman and secretary, CAN advised suspending late-night programmes, fencing church compounds, and positioning security personnel and electronic devices strategically around premises. The association also urged intensified prayers for abducted individuals and warned against sheltering strangers overnight. They stressed that unfenced churches should prioritise gating their compounds to safeguard congregants.
