EFCC Arrests Fake Instagram Football Agent in N11 Million Scam
Operatives of the EFCC’s Benin Zonal Directorate arrested Osagie Destiny Etinosa for allegedly defrauding a young player of N11 million. He posed as a well-connected football agent on Instagram, promising trials with clubs in Romania and Bulgaria. He convinced Samuel Beke Ohazuruike to pay the fee, but the trials never happened. After failed attempts to recover the money, the victim filed a petition with the EFCC. The agency used online intelligence to track and arrest the suspect, who will soon face prosecution. This case highlights a growing trend of fraudsters exploiting the dreams of young athletes seeking opportunities abroad.
