Lagos State Pushes for Stronger Executive-Legislative Collaboration to Drive Inclusive Growth
At the 19th Executive/Legislative Parley in Victoria Island, Lagos State leaders called for tighter cooperation among the three branches of government to boost service delivery and inclusive development. Attendees agreed on early and sustained engagement in the budget process and policy formulation. They recommended institutionalising quarterly meetings between national and state lawmakers to align strategies and monitor performance. The forum urged deeper grassroots participation through structured party–government engagements and intensified voter awareness for continuous registration ahead of the 2027 elections. It also backed reforms to the Land Use Act, non-kinetic security measures and better communication of government policies. Participants stressed fair compensation and resettlement before demolition exercises, enforcement of planning approvals and citizens’ impact assessments for major projects. The proposed Lagos State airline was also endorsed as a catalyst for economic growth.
