Turaki-led PDP Dares Wike: “Seal Our Office If You Can”

A faction of the PDP led by Kabiru Turaki has challenged FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to follow through on his threat to shut its operational office. The row began when Wike questioned the faction’s legitimacy during a media briefing and warned that any office they use could be sealed. Ibrahim Abdullahi, former PDP deputy publicity secretary and Turaki’s principal secretary, said the group already operates from a temporary office and invited the minister to take it over. He warned that the party’s internal crisis was fuelling political instability and likened the situation to a Hobbesian state of anarchy. Spokesperson Ini Ememobong accused Wike of making misleading claims about the faction’s finances. He said Wike’s assertion that banks would refuse to open accounts for them was false, noting that their party accounts are active while Wike’s camp allegedly relies on private accounts for funds.
