Living in Love: Reflections on 1 John 4:7-21

This passage from 1 John 4:7-21 reminds us that love comes from God and is the hallmark of knowing Him. It celebrates God’s sacrificial love in sending His Son and calls us to mirror that love by caring for one another. We are encouraged to live by God’s Spirit so that His love is complete in us. Perfect love casts out fear and gives us confidence on the day of judgment. Ultimately, the text challenges us: because God loved us first, our love for others is proof of our relationship with Him. Loving our brothers and sisters is inseparable from loving God.

A daily habit could be checking in on someone who feels isolated, offering genuine support as a way to live out this passage's call to love.
