Ashifat Warns of Tough NPFL Run-In, Pledges Fight for Every Point

Ashifat Warns of Tough NPFL Run-In, Pledges Fight for Every Point

Suleiman Ashifat, head coach of Kwara United, says the final three matches of the NPFL season represent the toughest phase for the Harmony Boys. Kwara United sit 12th with 45 points as they prepare to face Niger Tornadoes this Sunday. Ashifat insists no side is safe until the last whistle, warning that minimal point differences could decide relegation. “We must contest for every single point. Every match now is decisive,” Ashifat said. After Niger Tornadoes, Kwara United will host Enyimba before concluding their campaign away at Bayelsa United. The coach commended the league organisers for raising competitive standards that showcase the NPFL’s growing quality.

With three tough NPFL games left, what strategies do you think Kwara United coach Ashifat should adopt to secure every point?

Definitely, strengthening the backline and quick counters can work. Keeping morale high in training helps too.

Would you rather see Ashifat tighten up the backline or push for a free-flowing attack in those final matches?

It's odd how a team on 45 points still isn't safe; the league really does seem more unpredictable than past seasons at this stage.

Calling this phase the toughest feels exaggerated when you compare their remaining fixtures; Niger Tornadoes are hardly unstoppable opponents this Sunday.

Coach Ashifat must tighten defence and sharpen set pieces; na small changes fit make the difference in these final three matches.
