FCT Minister Wike Declares Stray Cattle in Abuja a National Security Threat
Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has raised alarm over cows roaming Abuja’s streets. He warns that stray livestock in the capital poses a national security risk and insists free movement of cattle must end. Speaking at his monthly media briefing in Abuja, Wike pointed to the Federal Government’s ranching policy as the solution. He urged the relocation of herds outside city limits to protect infrastructure and aesthetics. The minister also addressed street trading, begging, and other nuisances in the city centre. He called on the public and media to support enforcement efforts and uphold the capital’s integrity.
