Labour Party Zones 2027 Presidential Ticket to Southern Nigeria

Labour Party national chair Nenadi Usman says the party has formally zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to southern Nigeria and will not accept any northern aspirant. Usman stressed that no candidate from the North will be cleared to run. She declined to endorse any individual, noting that the nominee will emerge through democratic primaries. She also confirmed that a court challenge to the party’s leadership was dismissed for lack of merit. Usman hinted at a revised timetable for upcoming congresses to accommodate new members. Addressing security issues, she said the party has petitioned the police over an attack on its office. She urged members to adopt digital registration, reserving manual forms for those without mobile access.
