Canada Announces 2026 Fee Hikes for Nigerian Permanent Residence and Citizenship Applications
The Government of Canada will raise application fees for permanent residence and citizenship on April 30, 2026. This update follows a routine review under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations. Permanent residence fees will increase across all categories. The Right of Permanent Residence Fee will rise from $575 to $600. Provincial Nominee Programme fees move from $950 to $990. Business Class applications climb from $1,810 to $1,895, and Family Class fees go from $545 to $570. Citizenship fees will also go up by about 2.7 per cent. The Right of Citizenship Fee increases from $119.75 to $123 on March 31, 2026. According to an official notice from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, these adjustments aim to keep services timely and aligned with inflation.
