Osoba Warns of Southern ‘Gang-up’ by Obi, Makinde and Jonathan to Split Votes Against Tinubu
Aremo Olusegun Osoba, veteran journalist and former Ogun State governor, has raised alarm over a planned coalition of southern politicians aiming to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election. Speaking at the announcement of the APC presidential primaries result in Abeokuta, he warned that Peter Obi, Governor Seyi Makinde and former President Goodluck Jonathan could each field separate bids to divide southern votes and weaken Tinubu’s support. Osoba urged APC members not to be complacent despite Tinubu’s commanding win in Ogun State’s primaries, where he secured 322,485 votes compared to his rival’s zero. He appealed for massive turnout in the general election as a token of appreciation for the developmental projects Tinubu has delivered in the South.
