Meet Tega Alexander: British-Nigerian Star Joins Bridgerton Season 5

Meet Tega Alexander: British-Nigerian Star Joins Bridgerton Season 5

Netflix confirmed that British-Nigerian actor Tega Alexander will join Bridgerton Season 5 as Christopher Anderson. He arrives as a Regency-era Casanova whose entrance is set to turn heads in the Ton. Christopher is the son of Lord Marcus Anderson and nephew to Lady Danbury. While he exudes charm and confidence, the series hints at deeper self-doubt shaping his journey. Alexander shared the news on Instagram, teasing “I guess I’ll see you around the Ton.” Based in the UK, Alexander first rose to fame through dance and movement content. He has since expanded into acting and fashion, with roles in MobLand, Red Eye and The Sandman, and collaborations with Hugo Boss, Montblanc and Apple. Season 5 centres on Francesca Bridgerton. Joining Alexander are Jacqueline Boatswain as Helen Stirling and Gemma Knight Jones as Lady Elizabeth Ashworth.

It's interesting that Netflix chose British-Nigerian talent for a Regency-era Casanova; this twist could challenge the usual Bridgerton formula.

I love how this British-Nigerian casting brings fresh vibes to Bridgerton's elegant drama.

I see the casting is fresh, but Bridgerton already embraces diverse stories. This might not feel as revolutionary as some expect.

I'm not convinced one new male lead can carry an entire season; Bridgerton thrives on ensemble drama, after all.

Remember to revisit the first four seasons before Season 5 drops, so you spot every nod to Lady Danbury and the Andersons.
