The National Association of Akwa Ibom USA presented educational grants to selected students during its 2026 NAAKIBOM Day celebration in Uyo. The programme, themed “Creating Opportunities Through Educational Empowerment,” focused on easing financial pressures on students and supporting their academic goals. It brought together diaspora members, government representatives, students and other stakeholders. Beneficiaries from the University of Calabar, Akwa Ibom State University and David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences said the grants came at a crucial time and would help them stay focused on their studies. The association said the intervention reflects its commitment to investing in young people and contributing to Akwa Ibom State’s development through education.
