Benin Republic coach Gernot Rohr said he is deeply disappointed that Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The former Super Eagles boss blamed early qualification hiccups and a lack of team cohesion. He noted that despite having stars like Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze and Ademola Lookman, Nigeria dropped too many points. Rohr also praised Africa’s showing at this World Cup. He highlighted Morocco’s game against Brazil, France vs Senegal and Ivory Coast vs Ecuador as proof of the continent’s tactical and physical improvements.
