Galatasaray Set to Renew Pursuit of Raphael Onyedika

Galatasaray Set to Renew Pursuit of Raphael Onyedika

Galatasaray are preparing a fresh approach for Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika, according to Turkish media reports. The reigning Turkish champions had a bid turned down by Club Brugge in January. With Lucas Torreira poised to leave Rams Park this summer, Galatasaray view Onyedika as a prime candidate to fill the midfield role. The 25-year-old has one year left on his contract after declining a renewal offer from the Belgian side. Onyedika joined Club Brugge from FC Midtjylland in 2022 and has since established himself as a key performer for the 19-time Belgian champions.

I get your optimism, but we can't guarantee his style fits theirs instantly; he may need time.

It's notable that Club Brugge rejected them in January despite Galatasaray's championship status.

Chasing another midfielder might not be the best move when they could focus on retaining key defenders.

A sweeter approach might involve negotiating a loan with an option to buy, to reduce risk.
