Super Eagles’ Nwaiwu Welcomes Baby Girl Days Before Unity Cup Final
Super Eagles defender Chibuike Nwaiwu and his partner have celebrated the birth of their first child, a daughter named Jacinta, just days before Nigeria faces Jamaica in the Unity Cup final. The announcement came from his club in Turkey, where Trabzonspor sent warm congratulations and wished baby Jacinta a healthy and happy life. Nwaiwu impressed again in the semi-final victory over Zimbabwe, partnering in central defence as Nigeria won 2-0. He is set to retain his place for Saturday night’s final at The Valley. Since leaving Enyimba in 2024, Nwaiwu has risen through Europe’s leagues. He won the Austrian Cup with Wolfsberger AC and later helped Trabzonspor secure a third-place finish and a Turkish Cup in the same season.
