Álvaro Arbeloa Appointed Fulham Manager on Three-Year Deal
Fulham have named Álvaro Arbeloa as their new manager at Craven Cottage. The former Real Madrid coach has signed a three-year contract to succeed Marco Silva, who departed for Benfica. Arbeloa said he is honoured to take on this role at London’s oldest club. He thanked chairman Shahid Khan and vice-chairman Tony Khan for their trust and expressed his ambition to play attacking football and support the club’s academy. Chairman Shahid Khan described Arbeloa as ambitious and praised the experience he gained working with top players and methods in the game. Arbeloa also spoke of his interest in promoting young talent to the first team. Arbeloa previously served as interim manager at Real Madrid, leading the side through 28 La Liga matches last season. He is reportedly keen to bring in familiar faces such as midfielder Franco Mastantuono and full-back Fran García.
