Ashleigh Plumptre Undergoes Successful Foot Surgery, Eyes WAFCON 2026 Comeback
Saudi side Al Ittihad Ladies have confirmed that Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has successfully undergone surgery for a foot injury, according to reports. Plumptre is expected to be sidelined for several months. This marks the second time the former Leicester City player has been out injured since joining Al Ittihad. The 31-year-old suffered a serious injury in March 2024 after scoring eight goals in her first 12 games for the club. She missed the Paris 2024 Olympic Games due to fitness concerns. Plumptre now aims to regain full fitness ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in July.
